Mellanox QSFP-40G-SR4 Compatible QSFP+ 40GBASE-SR4 850nm 150m DOM MPO-12/UPC MMF Optical Transceiver Module

The QSFP+ module adopts 12 Fibers MTP/MPO Male connectors, reaching a link up to 150m over OM4 MMF (100m over OM3). This transceiver is compliant with QSFP+ MSA, IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-SR4 and breakout to 4x10GBASE-SR standard. At the same time, it is completely interoperable with all standard 40GBASE-SR4 interfaces. Digital diagnostics functions are also available via the I2C interface, as specified by the QSFP+ MSA, to allow access to real-time operating parameters. With these features, this easy to install, hot swappable transceiver is suitable to be used in various applications, such as data centers, campus and computing networks, interconnections within and between switches, routers, NICs and transport equipment.

A: Yes, QSFP-SR4-40G transceivers support 40G to 4x 10G breakout application and interface interoperability.
Q: What are the maximum supported distances for a 40GBASE-SR4 transceiver?
A: The QSFP-SR4-40G transceiver supports up to 100 meters on OM3 multimode fiber and up to 150 meters on OM4 multimode fiber.
Q: Has the max TDP of the transceiver been characterized, and if so, what is it?
A: We currently do not have the TX OMA values for our products. The OMA values are related to the extinction ratio, and different extinction ratios will yield different OMA values. Therefore, we typically test for average optical power. You can refer to the product’s datasheet for more specific information.
Q: Can I get information on the housing material of this transceiver for a biological evaluation?
A: Yes, the housing material of this transceiver is made of zinc alloy.
Q: Can 40GBASE-SR4 transceivers reach 100m on OM3 fiber?
