How to Distinguish the Wavelength by the Color of the Pull Ring of the Optical Module

In order to distinguish their own optical modules, different manufacturers can distinguish them by their wavelength, transmission distance, packaging, etc. Do you know what other methods can be used to distinguish them?

Today, the editor will teach you to distinguish the wavelength of the optical module by the color of the pull ring .

Commonly used optical modules have four wavelengths, 850nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, 1550nm.  Among them , the color of the pull ring corresponding to 850nm of the Gigabit SFP optical module is black, the color of the pull ring corresponding to 1310nm is blue, and the color of the pull ring of 1490nm is purple, but the color of the pull ring of 1550nm is usually yellow. Distance over 80km optic module usually uses the green pull ring.

Specific data as shown in the table:

CWDM optical module, the color of its pull ring is colorful, there are 18 wavelengths in total, and the band is divided into prewave and postwave, the prewave is 1270nm-1450nm; the postwave is 1470nm-1610nm.

The specific wavelength corresponding color of the pull ring can be seen in the table below.

10G dual-fiber optical module mainly has three wavelengths: 850nm, 1310nm, 1550nm. The color of the pull ring corresponding to the wavelength of 850nm is black, the color of the pull ring of 1310nm is blue, the color of the pull ring of 1550nm and 40KM is red, and the color of the pull ring of 1550nm and 80KM is red or white.

10G single fiber optical module wavelength and pull ring color are 1270nm (black), 1330nm (blue), 1490nm (purple), 1550nm (yellow).

The above is the whole content of the color of the optic module pull ring introduced by the editor.
