NVIDIA InfiniBand MMS4X50-NM Compatible OSFP 800G FR8 PAM4 Optical Transceiver (2x FR4, SMF, 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm and 1331nm, 2km, Dual LC/UPC, DOM, Finned Top) The NVIDIA InfiniBand MMS4X50-NM Compatible OSFP Optical Transceiver is an 800Gb/s 2x400Gb/s Twin-port OSFP, 2xFR4 single mode, Multiplexed, 8-channel transceiver using two, 2-fiber, LC Duplex optical connectors each carrying 4-channels of 100G-PAM4. The dual Far Reach 8-channel (2xFR4) design uses 100G-PAM4 electrical and optical modulation based on the CWDM4 serial, multiplexed 1310nm wavelength grid. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand NDR end-to-end systems. It is the ideal solution for supercomputing, seamlessly integrating into computing and storage infrastructure to ensure efficient high-performance interconnectivity. Used in Quantum-2 air-cooled switches.

Q: Can this module be connected to 400G modules?
A: Yes, this OSFP-2FR4-800G optical module can be connected to two 400G FR4 optical modules via two single-mode fiber patch cables.
Q: Can an IB optical module be connected to an Ethernet optical module?
A: No, it is not possible. The optical modules on both ends need to be of the same type, either IB optical modules or Ethernet optical modules.
Q: If hypothetically we had a problem where we don’t know if the issue is with the modules or with the Mellanox switches, or maybe Mellanox switch failure due to the module’s problem, would you provide us technical support?

Q: Can I use 800G OSFP optical modules for 800G QSFP-DD ports?
A: OSFP and QSFP-DD are different size packages with different physical dimensions. Only modules with the same size packages can be interconnected.
